Chester Charles Perigo, 84, of rural Wabash, passed away at 1:35 p.m.Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born January 1, 1923 in Linton, he was the son of Roy and Eliza (Mason) Perigo.
He married Doris K. Marquart in Linton on Oct. 28, 1945.
He was an electrician at Purdue University 23 years, retiring in 1984. He attended the Wabash Friends Church. A U.S. Army veteran, he fought in four major campaigns during World War II and received four Bronze Stars. He lived in Lafayette 35 years prior to moving to Wabash.
He is survived by wife, Doris K. Perigo of Wabash; two sons, Dann (Gretchen) Perigo of Wabash, Donald (Lorri) Perigo of Lafayette; four grandsons, Chris Perigo, of West Lafayette; Jeremy (Angie) Perigo of Portsmouth, VA, Levi (Ashley) Perigo of Huntsville, AL, Josiah Perigo of Lafayette, IN; two great-granddaughters, Ashlynn Perigo, and Kaitlin Perigo, both of West Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his son Tommy Perigo, who died in 1953; as well as two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave. Wabash at 10 a.m. on Monday, with David Phillips officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:00pm Monday in Fairview Cemetery, Linton, with Dann Perigo officiating. Friends may call 2-5pm Sunday at the funeral home.
