Lestie Frances Lafferty, 84, of Scottsburg, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg.
She was born March 9, 1923 in Linton, the daughter of the Marcus Benjamin and Lestie Martha (Pafford) Hamlin.
She was married to Troy Afton Lafferty, who died March 19, 1980.
Born and raised in Linton, she was a retired certified nurses aide at the old Sullivan Nursing Home in Sullivan. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Scottsburg.
Survivors include: three daughters, Frances Jean Campbell of Henderson, Kentucky, Martha Joann (Leon) Cagle of Scottsburg and Janet Arlene (Howell) Townes of Nashville, TN; a stepson,Troy Marvin (Betty) Lafferty of Modesto, CA; four sisters, Oneita (Don) Bailey of Lakeland, FL, Beatrice Douglass of Wolcottville, June Stackhouse of Kendallville and Beulah Moor, both of Kendallville; three brothers: John (Phylis) Hamlin of Bloomfield, Eugene (Maxine) Hamlin and Argile (Marilyn) Hamlin, both of Kendallville; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; ond great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Dean Helms; and two brothers: Russell Lloyd and Walter Ivan Hamlin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
