Blanch (Wright) Allen, 93, of Bloomington passed away at 1:44 p.m. on Friday July 27, 2007 at Garden Villa (Hospitality House) in Bloomington.
Born November 30, 1913 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wright.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society and was also a member of the Body of Christ Church.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Cliff E. Allen and Harold L. Allen, both of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Michelle L. Allen of Bloomington and Harold L. Allen Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; 11 step-grandchildren, Susie Becker of Solsberry, Carl Beavers of Martinsville, Wilma Frazier of Bedford, Michael Beavers of Owensburg, Richard Beavers of Bloomington, Victoria Allen, James Beavers of Bedford, Colleen Rainey, Rose Mary Lirot, Ruth Mobley, Catherine Beavers all of Bloomington; as well as several step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Alfred Allen on October 7, 1987; her parents, one brother, Ralph Wright; one step-granddaughter, Patricia Mobley; and three great- grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor John E. Turpin officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery near Bloomfield.
Friends may call from noon until the hour of service on Thursday August 2, 2007 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
