Rebecca "Becky" Whaley

Rebecca "Becky" Whaley, 82, of Bloomington, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Garden Villa Nursing Center.

Born Aug. 20, 1924 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Herschel and Lillian (Crane) Sparks.

She was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church, and a secretary at Bloomington High School South for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Orval L. Whaley of Bloomington; four daughters, Phyllis Kasting and her husband Tom of Franklin, Ellen Sparks and her husband Steve of Ellettsville, Marilyn Kindred and her husband Ross, Janice Weaver and her husband Marvin all of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren, Kyle and Kim Kasting, Tammi Klein and her husband Matt, Brad Sparks, Krista Patterson and her husband Matt, Stacey Corbin and her husband Steve, Jason and Ryan Austin, Clint Weaver, Amy Deckard and her husband Brad; two step-grandchildren, Brad Kindred and his wife Amy, Jenna Walker and her husband Spencer; three great grandchildren, Madison and Karis Klein, and Ian Corbin; four step-great grandchildren, Blake and Abby Kindred, Rachel and Riley Walker; three brothers, Roger Sparks and his wife Lois, William "Bill" Sparks and his wife Charlotte all of Bloomington, Carl Sparks and his wife Kathryn of Bloomfield; two sisters, Norma Graebe, Carol Tow and her husband Barney all of Bloomington, several cousins, nieces and nephews,

She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Phillip Whaley, an infant sister, Doris Sparks, and a brother, Bruce Sparks.

Services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, with Pastor Rodney Wallace officiating.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and 1-2 p.m. on Thursday before the service, with burial at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Indiana Alzheimer's Association in memory of Becky Whaley.
