Rececca K. Jones, 59, of Granger, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug.7, 2007.
Born Aug. 11, 1947 in Linton, she was the daughter of Paul E. and Thelma Mae Wilkes.
She worked as a special education teacher and practiced speech therapy in the Mishawaka School System. She was a member of the Mishawaka Coaches Wives Club, the Mishawaka Bridge Club, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, and the Mishawaka and Pen Harris Madison PTAs.
Survivors include her father, Paul Wilkes of Granger; her husband, Steve Jones, of Granger; a son, Matthew (Sandy) Jones and grandchildren, Nick and Cara of Cedar Grove, WI; a daughter, Melissa Brumfield (Dan) and grandson, Zachery, of Noblesville; uncles, Harry Groves of Bloomington and Joseph Wilkes of Indianapolis; an aunt Juanita Stiffler of Indianapolis and an aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Frank Zeps of Rome, GA; and several cousins.
Viewing will be at Bubb Funeral Chapel in Mishawaka from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at East United Methodist Church in Mishawaka. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery at Midland after a short service on Saturday at McClannahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville. Viewing will be held from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
