Ronald N. Schwartz, 48, of rural Bloomfield, passed away due to a farm tractor accident on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007.

Born on Jan. 27, 1959, in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of Ronald and Sandra (Clauser) Schwartz.

A 1977 graduate of the Pottsville High School, served his country for 29 years, 25 as active duty Navy from 1978-2003. He continued his service at NSWC Crane. Ron's duty stations included Japan, Pensacola, Norfolk, San Diego, Alaska, Hawaii, the USS Biddle during Desert Storm and the White House under the Reagan and Bush administrations. He was Past President of the German Shorthair Pointer Club of San Diego and a long time member of Quails Unlimited and the NRA.

Survivors includes his wife, Erin (Lynch) Schwartz of Bloomfield, three daughters: Chelsie N. Schwartz and Rebecca P. Schwartz of Bloomington and Amanda Wright and her husband Christopher of Pottsville, PA.; one son, Ronnie N. Schwartz of Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Madison and Caden Wright of Pennsylvania; his parents Ronald and Sandra Schwartz of Pottsville, PA; four sisters, Kathleen Kramer, Cynthia Salak, Diane Miller and husband Jacob and Susan Hoke and husband Edward -- all of the Pottsville, PA area; his maternal grandfather, Elmer Clauser; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Norman and Dorothy Schwartz; and his maternal grandmother, Teresa Clauser.

Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m.on Friday at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington with military rites provided by the Veteran's Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Friday until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund for Ronald's children, in care of Allen Funeral Home, 3000 E. Third St., Bloomington, IN 47401.
