William J. "Bill" Quinlan,79, Jasonville passed away at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at his residence.
Born April 11, 1928 in Delmar, IA, he was the son of Clement and Catherine M. (Welsh) Quinlan.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the University of Iowa wrestling team.
A graduate of Southwestern University of Illinois, he was an accountant for the welfare department and employment office.
He was a member of the Howesville Church of God of Prophecy, Indiana Gospel Music Association and founded the Jasonville Spirit Builders and Greene Guard for the disadvantaged and school group outs.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Ann (McHenry) Quinlan, of Jasonville, whom he married on Nov. 5, 1962; daughters, Julie (Roger) Reynolds of Jasonville and Carol (Thomas) Wright of Linton; a sister, Bobbie Shay of Iowa City, IA; grandchildren, Casey, Clay and Carly Reynolds; Morgan and Lyndon McGee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard C. Quinlan and C. Edward Quinlan; and infant daughter, Virginia Mae Quinlan.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastors Larry Goodman and Rony Reyes officiating. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery at Howesville.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday.
