Lester E. Davis, 86, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born March 4, 1921 in Linton, he was the son of Samuel R. and Bertha (Adkins) Davis.
He was a shop planner for sheet metal work at NWSC Crane. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and a member of the Newark Pentecostal Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Virginia (Watkins) Davis of Bloomington; two sons, James R. Davis of Bloomington and Michael D. Davis of Wisconsin; one sister, Irma Freeman of Spencer; five grandchildren and three great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery in rural Solsberry.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
