Mabel Gentry, 92, of Freedom, passed away Friday, May 11, 2007 at her residence.
She was born May 2, 1915 in Greene County to David and Lucy (Bowers) Rowe.
She was a teacher at the Cuba School in Owen County, McVille school in Greene County and 19 years at Eminence Elementary.
Survivors include daughters Barbara Mize and Betty (Jack) Hauser of Freedom, Beverly Knight of Richmond, VA, son Leroy (Linda) Gentry of Freedom, sister Grace Daugherty of Lead Hill, AR, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Owen Gentry, sister Mary Rowe and brothers Dwight Rowe and Doris Alfred Rowe.
Funeral services will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Revs. David Freeman and Ron Strohe officiating. Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. until time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Freedom Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
