Gene "Shorty" Minks, 57, of Bloomfield passed away Monday, May 14, 2007.
He was a member of the Word of Life Fellowship Church in Bloomfield.
An over the road and local truck driver for aproximately 37 years, he spent the last 10 years being part of the Cullison Trucking family in Bloomfield.
Survivors include: his mother Christina Geneva (Patterson) Minks; his wife, Edna Lois (Vandeventer) Minks; two children Michael Eugene Minks and Linda Sue Minks; one adopted daughter, Amanda Dawn Donovan; two grandchildren Michael Donovan and Tibitha Michelle Donovan, all of Bloomfield; one brother Jerry Lee Minks and his wife Shelly of Jasonville; several nieces & nephews, great nieces & great nephews including Loretta Frye and her son Gavin, Sarah Helms and her children Jordan & Courtney, Daniel Keller, Anthony Minks, Christopher Minks and his children, Brandon and Jocelyn, Melinda Minks and her daughter Kaelyn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Lizzy Minks; his father, Robert Paul Minks; and one brother-in-law, Larry "Doc" Vandeventer.
Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Word of Life Fellowship Church in Bloomfield with graveside service immediately following at Calvertville Cemetery.
