Emmalee Morgan Gilbert, 13, of Lewis, passed away Sunday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis from injuries associated with a tractor accident.
Born Jan. 10, 1994 in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Ted Andrew and Theresa "Terri" Sue (Wilson) Gilbert of Lewis.
She was a seventh grade student at Shakamak where she participated in basketball, volleyball and softball.
Survivors include: her parents; three sisters, Heather, Jessica and Amanda Gilbert, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mike and Paula Wilson of Jasonville; paternal grandfather, Sam Gilbert of Lewis; great-grandparents, William "William" Wilson of Jasonville, Gale and Mary O'Hair of Greencastle and Melba Robertson of Lewis; aunts and uncles, Tim and Sheila Spurling of Jasonville, Darrin and Karen Grissom of Jasonville, Michael Wilson of Indianapolis, Robert and Penny Baker of Jasonville, Jeff Gilbert of Lewis, Pat and Jan Gilbert of Lewis; as well as many cousins.
She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Nancy Gilbert; great-great grandparents, Kenny and Lily Edmondson; and great-grandparents, Robert Thompson and Norma Lewis.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shakamak Junior-Senior High School gym with Pastor Kevin Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville and from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the school gym.
