Rev. Ivan R. Stone, 93, of Linton, passed away Monday, May 21, 2007, at Linton Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born in Steel Crossroads in Harbin County, KY on Aug. 26, 1913, he was the son of Rodrick and Rose Mae (Eubanks) Stone.
On March 18, 1942, he married Zola Mildred (Rose).
Rev. Stone was a member of Church of God and became an ordained minister on July 12, 1940. He completed his Bible training school for ministers at Sevierville, TN. In September he was appointed to pastor at the Linton Church of God. He loved to preach the gospel and at one time he had a morning radio show, he preached in various states, including Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia and Missouri and also taught bible studies and held many revivals.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Rev. Stone was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Elmer, Everett, George Irwin and Burton Stone; five sisters, Beulah Keith, Pauline Meyers, Della Stone, Verna Beaubien and Thelma Ray.
Funeral services will be held at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton on Friday, May 25, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Russell Black and nephew Rev. Paul Keith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. Friday until the hour of service.
