Mable M. Stewart, 80, of Bloomfield, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday May 29, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.

Born May 21, 1927 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Hadden) Hayse.

She retired as a cook for the Lighthouse restaurant in Bloomfield. She was a member of the Harvest Community Church.

Surviving relatives include: her children, Martha J. and husband, John Shelton, of Columbus, E. Edward Smith of Lyons, Nancy J. and husband, John Deckard, of Bedford, Janice S. and husband, Mike Hardesty of Bloomfield, and Dona S. Stewart and companion, Denny Bissey of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Greg and wife, Laurie Shelton of Columbus, Phillip and wife, Buffy Shelton of Columbus, Kianne Smith of Arizona, Blake Smith of Arizona, Kelly and husband, Greg Dunn of Bedford, Jerry and wife, Kelly Maddox, of Bloomfield, Katrina and husband, Charles Michael, of Bloomfield, Kristie and husband Jeff Pickard of Worthington, and Cody Bissey of Bloomfield; Great Grandchildren, Sylvia Shelton of Columbus, Alyssa Shelton of Columbus, Parker Shelton of Columbus, Presten Shelton of Columbus, Peyton Shelton of Columbus, Garrison Dunn of Bedford, Emily Pickard of Worthington, and Kaylee Pickard of Worthington; one brother, Alva and wife, Vickie Hayse of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John W. (Sam) Stewart May 30, 1996; siblings, Clayton Cleo in 1966, Grace Elizabeth in 1980, Lester Franklin in 1988, Dorothy May in 1990, James Theodore in 2005, Melvin Lee in 1961, Raymond Gilbert in 1934, and William Albert in 2003.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Arlen Pope and Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
