Cleota Mae Hollingworth, 86, of Linton, passed away at 8:48 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
She was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Linton, the daughter of Brisben L. & Emma L. (Hayman) Cooprider.
She was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church, a 1938 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School, retired from Greene County General Hospital where she worked in the business office. She also worked several years at the local IGA Store.
Survivors include two sons, M. Joseph James of Linton and Morgan James and his wife, Joann, of Linton; a step-son, Mark Hollingworth of Linton; four grandchildren, Deborah Skomp and her husband, Jerry, of Noblesville, Michelle Cooksey and her husband, Darin, of Dugger, J. D. James and his wife, Brandy, of Linton, and Adam James of Linton; five great-grandchildren, Jarod and Devin Cooksey, Tyler and Alexis James and Jack Skomp; and a nephew, Bill Spears of Louisville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurshel H. Hollingworth, two brothers, Dennis and Estel Cooprider; a sister, Violet Spears; a niece, Doris Weaver; and her parents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
