Wayne J. Weaver, 82, of Switz City passed away at 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born May 4, 1924 in Monroe County, he was the son of Earl and Delia (Carmichael) Weaver.
He was retired from the Indiana University Power Plant as an engineer. He worked for the Farm Bureau Co-Op for several years, and his hobby was rug weaving. He was a member of the Greene County Chapel United Methodits Church, Bloomfield Odd Fellows Lodge, and was one of the founding members of the Switz City Fire Department -- serving as its first chief.
Surviving relatives include: his son, Roger L. Weaver and his wife Margaret of Switz City; one grandson, Mark W. Weaver and his wife Linda of Goshen; two great-granddaughters Maria and Danielle Weaver, both of Goshen; and one brother, Claudie R. Weaver of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marian L. (Davis) Weaver on Sept.17, 2000; and his parents.
Service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Forrest Collings officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 -8 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday.
