Andrew S. Ferguson, 84, of Linton, passed away at 2:58 a.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
He was born in Lyons on April 16, 1922, the son of Cyrus E.D. and Grace (Autrey) Ferguson.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines and the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He retired from the Linton General Electric Company in 1984, and was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen M. (Potter) Ferguson of Linton; two sons, Jack Ferguson and wife Janice of Coatsville and Gary Ferguson and wife, Linda of Indianapolis; a daughter, Jill Darlene Key and husband Mark of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Elizabeth J. Fraser of Bloomington; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virginia Ruth and Fern Ferguson; a brother, Lloyd "Red" Ferguson; and an infant brother.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. Doug Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Nebo Cemetery near Newberry.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
