Deloris Elaine Hiatt, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 after a long illness, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wis.
She was born in Linton on Dec. 13, 1933.
She was married to Burel Lee Hiatt, who retired from the Army in 1976. After a short retirement, she became a caregiver to her husband who suffered from ALS, and passed away in 1981. She continued to work for the Fort Benjamin Harrison Army and Air Force base in Indianapolis until its closure. She then worked for the Indiana School for the Blind and was a member of Sunnyside Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Cindy McCombs and Debi Brady; sons Terry Williams and Bill Hiatt; 10 grandchildren: Angela, Gary, Caleb, Michelle, Brent, Nick, Michael, Tonya-Kay, Janet Elaine; 19 great-grandchildren and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Burel Hiatt; and son, Gary Allen.
Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Indiana, pending further notice.
