Alayne L. Roberts, 65, of Tulsa, OK passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007.
Born May 6, 1941 in Fort Monroe, VA, she was the son of George M. and Genevieve H. Hayes.
She grew up in Bloomfield and graduated as salutatorian of her Bloomfield High School class. She moved to Indianapolis and worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company as a proofreader.
Her family moved to Columbus in 1970 and she was a part-time teacher's aide. She was later a volunteer at an elementary school in Charleston, W.V. and worked for Public Service of Oklahoma from 1983 until 2005 when she retired.
She was a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and later attended Holy Family Cathedral. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxilary.
Survivors include her husband, David; two sons, Anthony Lee Roberts and Michael Scott Murphree-Roberts; a daughter-in-law Sharman Kaye Murphree-Roberts; four grandchildren, Amanda, Duncan, Emmalene and Olivia; a sister, Marilee M. Lee; four cousins, five nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Jean Ann Hinman.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel with entombment at Memorial Park Cemetery, both in Tulsa.
