Forest L. "Johnny" Miller, 66, of Newburgh passed away at 2:05 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.
Born Jan. 21, 1941 in Howesville, he was the son of Warren "Peppy" and Hazel (Keller) Miller.
A Coalmont class of 1959 graduate, he was also a graduate of Indiana State University in Terre Haute in 1964.
He worked as an engineer for Peabody Coal Company for 16 years and as an engineer for C & M Mining Service/Vander Parts for 20 years. He was then a saleman for Kight Lumber in Newburgh for 10 years before retiring in January 2006.
Suvivors include: his wife, Rinda (Anthony) Miller, whom he married July 14, 1984, of Newburgh; a daughter and son-in-law Shannon and Russel Walden of Coal City; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Melissa Miller of Terre Haute; a son, Jean K. Miller of California; two step-sons, Michael L. VonDollen of Newburgh and William VonDollen of Terre Haute; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Billy Singleton of Linton, Patsy Moore of Lafayette, and Carolyn and LeRoy Liston of Linton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon "Bud" and Delores Miller of Linton, Clarence and Barbara Lou Miller of Linton; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Miller of Lakeland, FL; granddaughters, Taylor Walden, Sofia Miller and Elena Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Robert Miller and Norman Miller.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Bill Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.
Visitation will be conducted at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. on Thursday until the hour of service.
