Eva Mae Gates, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away 6:42 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at her residence.
Born April 28, 1920 in Champaign County, Ill., she was the daughter of Harold Clayton and Emmaline (Hammel) Reynolds.
She was a secretary for the Bloomfield School District and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the Tri-Kappa sorority.
Survivors include: two daughters, Nedra Spinks of Columbus and Debra Witt of Poland; one sister, Betty Brown of Champaign, Ill.; one brother, Harold Reynolds of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren, Mark Spinks of Flower Mound, Texas, Glen Spinks of Southport, Laura Spinks of Columbus, Marc Hendrickson of Brazil, Nedra Bridgewaters of Brazil, and Scott Yocom of Foley, Ala.; nine grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Glen Gates on July 2, 2005 whom she married Dec. 25, 1938.
Funeral service will be conducted noon Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Stan Brown officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Thursday until the hour of service.
