Lee R. Eads, 92, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2007 in Bloomington.
Born June 13, 1914 in Monroe County, he was the son of James Walter and Lola Jane (Rush) Eads.
He was a graduate of Ellettsville High School and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of the Marion County Sheriff's Department for 25 years, serving eight years as sheriff and 17 years as deputy sheriff. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite in Indianapolis.
Survivors include one daughter Sonja Cookson of Bloomfield; one sister, Mary Alice Baxter of Bloomington; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Myla (Davis) Eads (2004) and five brothers, Glen, Ovid, Marce, Herbert and James Eads.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Friday at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington with the Rev. Peggy Casteel of the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery in Spencer.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
