Jan Freeman Schloot, 76, of Altamonte Springs, Fla. and formerly of Worthington, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, in Florida.
He was born, April 1, 1930 in Worthington to Donald Freeman Schloot and Abby (Dyer) Schloot Defrees.
He was an entrepreneur who attended Rollins College and settled with his family in Central Florida in 1959. He was county chairman of the Young Republicans, when he lived in Greene County, also was a member of BPOE, Delta Chi Fraternity, and former Worthington Town Board member.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin, Altamonte Springs, Fla.; Michael, Maitland, Fla.; three daughters, Terri Rupp, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; Beth Hook, Lake Mary, Fla.; Abby Brown, Maitland, Fla.; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Susan (Ed) Benjamin, Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, James Craig Schloot, brother, James Dyer Schloot.
The family will be having a graveside service at a later date.
