George D. Auxier, 85, of Bloomfield, passed away 4:59 p.m. Monday March 26, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born Feb. 12, 1922 in Augusta, Kan., he was the son of George A. and Lena (Johnson) Auxier.
He was a planner and an estimator for NWSC Crane and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was a member of the Bloomfield First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, whom he married March 3, 1972, Pauline (Edwards) Auxier of Bloomfield; one son, Donald Eugene and wife Vicki Auxier of Terre Haute; three daughters, Janice and husband Robert Holaway of Bloomfield, Mary and husband Charles Ulbrich of Buehler, Kan., and Jean and husband John Eastman of Boring, Oreg.; his step-children, Brenda and husband Jim Plano of Mitchell, John Albertson of Memphis, Tenn., and Paul and wife Nancy Albertson of Odon; two sisters, Letha Tickel of Odon and Valeda Kreibel of Moundridge, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lois Auxier, and three sisters, Evelyn Decker, Frances Kennedy, and Phyllis Guerino.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield,with the Rev. Brent Meyer and the Rev. Brad Pridemore officiating. The eulogy will be given by Bud Spears. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield and one-hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children in care of Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home.
