Mildred Anita Leavitt, 95, Route 2, Linton passed away at 11:55 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born April 4, 1911 in Greene County, she was the daughter of John Frances and Olive Huffman Leech.

She formerly worked in L&M School cafeteria and was a member of the Eastern Star in Linton and the Lyons United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Gary Leavitt, Petersburg; eight grandchildren, Lynn Burdine, Jasper, Betsy Lange, Carmel, Michael Leavitt, Carmel, Laurie Leavitt, Arlington, Texas, Kenny Leavitt, Upland, Patty Schlacter, Ferdinand, Jerry Leavitt, Piperville, Pa., and Kathy Carpenter, Columbus, Ohio; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Beacher Leavitt, one son, Sherry "Ick" Leavitt; one great-grandson, Robert Leavitt; six brothers and sisters; and her parents.

Service will be at 2 p.m. today at Lyons United Methodist Church, and visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today at the church.

Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Lyons is in charge of arrangements.
