Jessie Liles, 89, of Avoca, passed away at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2006 at his residence.
Born April 27, 1917 in Benton County, Tenn., he was the son of John Harper and Sophia (Chandler) Liles.
He worked in construction and was a member of the Avoca Baptist Church and Laborers & Hod Carriers Union Local 741 in Bloomington.
Survivors include: his wife, June (Thompson) Richardson Liles, of Avoca; son Joe and wife Judy Liles of Bloomington; five stepchildren, Bobby Joe Richardson of Solsberry, Billy Gene and wife Rhonda Richardson of Bloomfield, Beverly Stalcup of Bloomington, Jessica Dawn Orman of Bloomington, Leonard William Richardson of Bloomington; two brothers John and wife Cathleen Liles of Solsberry, J.T. and wife Zenobia Liles of Greensburg; five sisters, Irene Brewer of Arkansas, Faye Walls of Bloomington, Esteen Ennis of Evansville, Frances Liles of Bloomington, Clara Mae Hollingsworth of Tennessee; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Fairy Dean Ward and Maxine Liles; four brothers, Cornell Liles, Albert Liles, A.J. Liles and Verdell Liles.
Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Kyle Witmer and the Rev. Bob Kirkman officiating. Burial will be in Solsberry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford and from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
