Jessie Thomas, 85, of Owensburg, passed away Friday, Feb, 16, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born July 5, 1921 in Owensburg, she was the daughter of Jack and Minnie (Merritt) White.
She attended Owensburg grade and high schools.
She worked at Lehman's General Store in Owensburg, retired from RCA in Bloomington after 30 years and worked for VIP Fashions. She was a member of the Owensburg Church of Christ and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She married Clifford Thomas, who survives, on March 12, 1938 in Owensburg.
Other survivors are: one daughter, Joyce Jones of Terre Haute; one son, Ron Thomas of Springville; and two sisters, Mary Ashcraft of Highland and Frances Hanson of Owensburg; five grandchildren, Tom Jones, Jill Jones Hunter, Brian Thomas and his wife, Shannon, Brent Thomas and his wife, Chasidy and Angela Thomas; 11 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brittni, Jordan, Kyle, Tanner, Quinn, Devyn, Lauren, Macie, Logan, MacKena; and one great-great grandson, Caden.
She was preceded in death by her parent and one sister, Wilma Rollins.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday from the Elmwood Chapel Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford with Paul Guthrie and Don Tiery officiating. Burial will be in Owensburg Cemetery.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Care Hospice in Bloomington or the Church of Christ in Owensburg.
