Cara Olds, 84, of Loogootee and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Born July 11, 1922 in Bellows Falls, Vt., she was the daughter of Harry and Windred Belknap MacDonald.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Loogootee and was former pediatric nurse. She formerly served a frequent weather correspondent for the Bloomfield Evening World and was a piano teacher while living in New York.
She is survived by sons, Peter Olds of Connecticut and Gary Olds of Texas; daughters, Elizabeth Olds of Connecticut and Christine Wardwell of Indianapolis; a brother, Daniel MacDonald of New Hampshire; a sister, Margaret Varney of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Raymond Emmerericheson in 1944; her second husband, Charles Olds in 2005; one brother, John MacDonald; and one sister, Emma MacDonald.
A funeral mass was at 10 a.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church, with burial in St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery. There was no public visitation. Brocksmith Funeral Home in Loogootee handled the arrangements.
