Violet M. Hair, 87, of Attica and formerly of Linton, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 at Woodland Manor Nursing Center.
Born in Linton on April 18, 1919, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Vincent) Pritchard. On Jan. 11, 1936, she married Ernest A. "Ernie" Hair.
She worked as a clerk at The GC Murphy Department Store for many years and after retirement, returned to homemaking. She was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and the Country Corner Home Extension Club.
Surviving are two daughters: Jean (Larry) Miller of Linton and Janice Franklin of Carbondale, Ill.; five grandchildren: Pamela Thompson (Bill) Miller, whom she raised, Julie (Bill) Tanner, Bob (Scarlett) Barker, Jamie (Billy) Simpson, and Jannell Franklin; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Don Pritchard of Plant City, Fla., and Jack Pritchard of Seminole, Fla., and one sister: Norma Yancey of Plant City, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Dixie (Hair) Thompson; one son, Donald Ray Hair; one grandson, Terry Hair; and one sister, Thelma Benefield.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Brother Nick Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Linton First Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
