Darla Nanette Horne, 42, of Linton passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born June 15, 1964 in Anderson, she was the daughter of Francis (Butch) and Wilma (Wink) Andis Layton Dowdy.
She attended Indiana Business College and obtained a degree in Business Administration Network Technology and was currently working on her second degree in Human Resources. She was also employed with Acceptance Insurance of Bloomington.
Survivors include: her mother and step-father Wilma (Wink) and Albert Dowdy of Bloomfield; one brother, Darin Layton of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two step-brothers Ron Dowdy of Indianapolis, Gregg Dowdy and wife Dianna of Indianapolis; one step-sister, Cindy Riggins and husband, Grant, of Bloomfield; parental grandfather, Lester Layton, of Anderson; one niece, Rachel Layton; several nieces and nephews; special friend, John Evans of Coalmont; and ex-husband Kelly Horne of Linton.
She was precede in death by her father.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker and Grant Riggins officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday and until the time of service Sunday.
