Arthur Raymond Moreland, 92, of Freelandville passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at Freelandville Community Home.
Born April 6, 1914 in Greene County, he was the son of Richard (Dick) and Caroline (Heaton) Moreland.
He was a retired farmer, bulldozer and scraper operator for 35 years. He was a member of the Freelandville Water Works Board and he and his wife, Frieda, operated Moreland's Café and Drug Store. He was a member of the Salem Church in Westphalia, the Bicknell Elks Lodge, Freelandville Improvement Club, and Operating Engineers Local No. 841.
Survivors include: a daughter Nancy (Larry) Gadberry of Owensburg; sons Dave (Jo) Moreland of Bicknell and Steve (Tina) Moreland of Freelandville; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Freida H. Moreland; one son, Larry Moreland; four grandchildren; four brothers; and three step-sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. CST on Tuesday at Word of Life Church in Bicknell with pastor John Moreland officiating. Burial will be in Freelandville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. CST on Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to he Freelandville Methodist Church.
