Ruth O. (Nowling) McGhee, 91, of Bloomfield passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007 at her residence.
Born Feb. 6, 1915 in Plainville, she lived in Bloomfield for more than 50 years.
She was a hairdresser for more than 40 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bloomfield.
She is survived by three children: Gary F. McGhee of Mammoth, Ariz.; Danny C. McGhee of Brownwood, Texas; and Dawnell Gregory, Sarasota, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Lester of Linton and Nell Sims of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Basil F. McGhee on Aug. 22, 1992, and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler and the Rev. Dave Wilde officiating. The eulogy will be given by her son, Gary McGhee. Entombment will be at Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday.
