Betty Jeannette (Smith) Floyd, 76, of Bloomfield, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday January 30, 2007 at her residence.
Born May 17, 1930 in Switz City, she was the daughter of James H. and Nellie (Mullis) Smith.
She was a 1948 graduate of Bloomfield High School. A homemaker, she also worked as a bank teller, and as a bookkeeper for Floyd Petroleum, and Floyd's Paint & Wallpaper. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Delta Theta Tau Alumnae, and the Coffee Girls.
On Sept. 5, 1948, she married her husband, Roy Lee Floyd, who survives.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Susie Goodman (Larry) of Bloomington, Nancy Hudson (Rick), and Lori Vandeventer (Sean) both of Bloomfield; five grandchildren Christy Goodman Hilton (Michael) of Greenfield, Carla Hudson Priest (Ryan) of Bloomfield, John Hudson (Andrea) of Indianapolis, Zach and Megan Vandeventer both of Bloomfield; six great-grandchildren, Elaine and Emma Hilton, Elizabeth and Travis Priest and Lauren and Maggie Hudson; one sister, Jane Smith Bowen of The Colony, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler and the Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday.
