Ilene F. Dowden, 78, of Linton and formerly of Switz City, passed away 7:07 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 30, 2006 at her daughter's residence in Farmersburg.
Born July 24, 1928 in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Arthur "Art" and Ida "Faye" (Slinkard) Wenzel.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Worthington First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband whom she married Sept. 12, 1948, Lowell R. Dowden of Linton; three daughters, De Ann Wright and her husband David of Bloomington, Linda Bard and her husband John of Seffner, Fla., and Susan Heath and her husband William of Famersburg; her grandchildren, Jason and his wife Lauree Wright of Bloomington, John Lowell Bard and Michael Bard both of Seffner, Fla., Dr. Eric Heath and his wife MacKenzie of Sullivan, and Brook and her husband Dale Povlin of Farmersburg; her great grandchildren, Ariel Lanae Povlin and Asia Ilene Povlin both of Farmersburg, Dustin Sherfield Wright and Haley Algood Wright both of Bloomington; two brothers, John and his wife Cheryl Wenzel of Spring Hill, Fla., and Monte and his wife Marsha Wenzel of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur "Art" Wenzel, mother, Ida "Faye" (Slinkard) Wenzel, two brothers, Arthur and Donald Wenzel, and two sisters, Darnellen Riddle and De Ann Green.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield, with the Rev. Bill Beckelheimer officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in rural Lyons.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday.
