Ruth Harp, 92, of Linton, passed away at 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
She was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Linton the daughter of James Alonzo and Emma (Reed) Stark.
She formerly worked at P.N. Hirsch, J.C. Penney, Peden Shoe Store, Keller Aluminum Chair Factory and General Electric, all in Linton. She was a member of the Linton First Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, David Harp of Linton and Monty Harp and his wife, Nancy, of Linton; a daughter, Sue McDonald of Linton; seven grandchildren, David Harp and Paula Bundy, both of Isle of Wight, England; Mike Harp of Tuscola, Ill., Jama Daves of Farmersburg, Kristin Plano of Bloomfield, Dolly Gentry and Keith McDonald, both of Linton; 11 great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Jaide, Macee, Branden, Logan, Ian, Marra, Logann, Keith, Dawn, and Wesley; and one great-great grandchild, Morgon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis David Harp on July 19, 1985, five brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren, Louis and Tim Voisin.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Ron Henwood officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. on Saturday until the hour of service.
