Martha I. Pitcher, 82, of Sandborn, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at Sullivan County Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 26, 1924 in Brookland, the daughter of Walter and Eliza Fay (Fry) Lind.
She married Sherman L. Mike Pitcher on May 16 1942.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter No.140 of Odon. She also worked at General Electric for 28 years before retiring in 1982.
Survivors include her son; Roger L. Pitcher of Jasper; two daughters; Theresa M. Slaven and Mary Jo Asher of Sandborn; grandchildren; Tina Snow of Linton, Brian Asher of Shoals, Lisa Reed of Odon, Jason Pitcher of Jasper and Becky Laughlin of Odon; 10 great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Pitcher on March 14, 2000, two sisters and one brother.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Larry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Sandborn Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home is from 4-8 p.m. today, and Friday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
