Donald Eugene Baird, 74, of Doans, passed away at 5:53 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 en route to Bloomington Hospital.
Born Nov. 15, 1932 in Doans, he was the son of Richard and Myrtle (Jones) Baird.
A 1951 graduate of Scotland High School, he was a farmer and drove a school bus in the Bloomfield School District for more than 20 years. He was retired.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Paula Baird of Bloomfield; one brother William (Mae)Baird of Bloomfield; brother-in-laws Carl (Freida) Tarvin, LeRoy (Nancy) Tarvin; sister-in-laws, Sherrill (Bill) Wells and Lucy (Van) Eisenmann; 15 nephews, Steve, Larry, and Richard Baird. Ted Jones, Richard, and Jack Stogsdill, David, and Daniel Clodfelder, Van, Rob, and Kurt Eisenmann, Greg, Jeff, Chris, and Tim Tarvin; eight nieces Diana Rollins, Liz Shidler, Teresa Perry, Margo Fairbanks, Debbie Potter, Peggy Roberts, Jennifer Miller and Cindy Boyce.
He was preceded in death by his wife Grace A. (Tarvin) Baird Jan. 21, 2004 whom he married on April 30, 1961; his parents; one half-sister, one half-brother; and one infant daughter.
Service was at 11a.m. today at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be at Scotland Cemetery.
