Latona (Gay) Houston, 76, of Dugger, passed away at 6:38 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
She was born in Tulip on Nov. 18, 1930 to William McKinley Bland and Frances Lorena Hudson Bland.
She was a member of the New Convenant Ministries in Linton, she was the Vice Queen of the Red Bonnet Belles, and was currently a greeter at Super Wal Mart in Linton.
She is survived by three sons; Roger Sherrard of Bloomfield, Bobby Houston, and Johnny R. Houston both of Linton; two daughters; Robin Chambers of Jasonville, and Ronda Burns of Sullivan; one brother; Ronald Gary Bland of Bloomfield; two sisters, Sharon J. Bedwell of Odon, Peggy Sue White of Bloomfield, 15 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Randy Sherrard, a daughter Risa Porter, a brother Bob Reed, two sisters; Ida Carol Nield, Sondra K. Westbrook, and five grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker officiating. Burial in the Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today, and before the service Thursday.
