Roy Vincent Hastings, 85, of Elnora passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born June 27, 1921, in Daviess County, he was the son of William Roy and Mary Lula (Ragle) Hastings.
A member of Elnora Church of Christ, he had worked at Kuhlenschmidt John Deer dealership in Newberry as a shop foreman for several years and was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a charter member and former director of the White River Valley Antique Association.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Wilson) Hastings, whom he married Nov. 2, 1954; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Beach of Lyons; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Carol Hastings of Elnora; grandchildren, Amy Remsburg, Anna Dawn Remsburg, Joseph Roy Wallace Hastings, Ryan Smith, Rachel Beach and Riley Beach; great-grandchildren, Emily, Jordan and David Remsburg; sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred Nichols of Elnora and Hope and Elbert Henry of Alabama; and a sister-in-law, Sunshine Hastings of Elnora.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, George, Shirley and Wallace Hastings.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Elnora Church of Christ, with the Rev. Tom Rogers officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Elnora.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service today at the church.
