Martha S. Wilfong, 81, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006.
Born in Rock Hill, S.C., on Nov. 22, 1924 she was the daughter to James F. and Ruth C. (Jennings) Shehan.
On Feb. 15, 1942 she married Luther Hurbert Wilfong, Sr. She was a member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Jasonville.
Survivors include two daughters: Teresa (John) Campbell of Pleasantville and Grace (Cliff) Sweazy of Brandenberg, Kentucky; four sons, James (Anita) Wilfong, Sr. of Dugger, Paul Wilfong of Crandall, Charles Wilfong of Marengo and Lloyd (Joyce) Wilfong of Grey, Georgia; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Luther Wilfong, Jr. and Johnny Wilfong; two daughters Ruth Faile and Annette Wilfong, one grandchild James Keith Wilfong, Jr., one great-grandchild Shane Sweazy and one sister, Mary Aldridge.
The funeral service will be at Anderson-Poindexter Dugger Chapel at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Jerry Ross officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday.
