Hugh E. Allee, 87, of Conneaut, Ohio and formerly of Switz City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006 at Inn-Conneaut Health Center following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 2, 1919, in Greene County, he was son of Tilman C. and Agnes (Hoss) Allee. He lived in Conneaut for the past 46 years.
A graduate of Switz City High School, he was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Cowle Post 151 of the American Legion. He was a member of East Conneaut United Methodist Church where he served as head usher. He was also a member of Lake Erie Boat Club and a former member of the Conneaut Optimist Club.
He worked for International Harvester in Indianapolis for a number of years and was also employed at the U.S. Post Office in Arcadia, Calif., before becoming owner/operator of Lewis Auto Parts in Conneaut. He had also worked at the former Astatic Corporation in Conneaut and R.M.I. in Ashtabula, retiring in 1989.
Survivors are his wife, Grace (Hall) Miltner Allee, whom he married June 25, 1972, at the Federated Church in East Springfield, Pa.; daughter, Christina M. (Michael R.) Fournier of Mentor, Ohio; son, Timothy H. Allee of Cleveland, Ohio; stepson, William J. (Barbara) Miltner of Newbury Park, Calif.; step-daughter-in-law, Carol Miltner (Donald) Sternberg of San Clemente, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Michael R. Markijohn of Oak Park, Mich. and Nicholas P. Markijohn of Mentor, OH, William L. (Lori) Miltner of Murricta, Calif., Kelli (Eric) Vogler of Nutley, N.J., Bryan P. (Krystyna) Miltner of Fountain Valley, Calif., Tiffany (Thomas) Cammarano of Laguna Hills, Calif. and Robert J. (Katie) Miltner of St. Paul, Minn.; and seven great-grandchildren, John William Miltner, Eric John Vogler, Alexa and Tommie Cammarano, Aaron and Tyler Amrine; and Caden John Miltner; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Forrest Allee; sisters, Marthabelle Atkinson, Frances Blevins, Lucille Russell and Leona Singleton; and stepson, John R. Miltner.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at East Conneaut United Methodist Church, 809 Furnace Road, Conneaut, Ohio.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Cowle Post 151 of the American Legion will accord military honors at the church. The Rev. Paula Marbury will officiate at the memorial service.
