Paul Joshua Edelman, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away on Tuesday., Oct. 3, 2006 at Bedford Hospitality House.
He was born Nov. 2, 1917, in Jasonville, the son of Samuel and Mary Louise (Ansorage) Edelman.
He ran a dragline and managed the Bloomfield gravel pit, was a truck driver and was a farmer. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bloomfield and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma (Workman) Edelman of Bloomfield, four sons, Larry, Jerry, and Joe Edelman, all of Bloomfield, and Timothy Edelman of Lyons; a daughter, Diana Fitzpatrick of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; two brothers, Don Sparks of Utica, Mich., and James Edelman of Labelle, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth Keller of Cory and Dorraine Schermerhorn of Randolf, New York; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded by two brothers, George and Arley Edelman; three sisters, Virginia Edelman, Dorothy Sutton, and Loraine Edelman, was well as his parents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bloomfield with Pastor Ron Kelley officiating.
Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Lyons. The Bloomfield American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church through the funeral home.
