Pansy M. Powell, 80, Linton, died at 8:28 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006 at her residence.
Born Oct. 16, 1925, in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of James E. and Margaret (Webster) Glass.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Grace Gospel Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, both of Linton.
She is survived by a son, Tom Powell and wife, Josephine of Berwyn, Ill.; a daughter, Bertha Hood of Linton; a sister, Blanche Powell of Evansville; seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Jim) Hineman of Jasonville, Lesli (Kenny) Pringle of Greenwood, Danny Joe (Stacia) Hood of Jacksonville, Fla., Garry (Sharon) Powell of Owensboro, Ky., Tommy (Renee) Powell of Channahon, Ill., Michael (Jessica) Powell of Chicago, Ill. and Lisa (Brad) Sullivan of Vicksburg; 13 great- grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Kyle, Rachel, Tess, John Matthew, Jack, Maggie, Lily, Amber, Cory, Samantha, and Kyle; and a great-great grandson, Brodie Lee Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Lee Powell on March 25, 2005; a son, Garry "Jake" Powell; two brothers, Carl Glass and George Glass; and her parents.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the Rev. James Gray officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
