Cecil W. Fowler, 86, of Linton passed away at 1 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at St. Mary's Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Mich.
He was born April 2, 1920 in Chattanooga, Tenn., to William Jack and Delle (Barnhan) Fowler.
A U.S. Navy veteran of U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1942 to 1944, he retired after 18 years as senior engineer of plant layout for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Mich. Also, he was a life-time member and 32nd degree Mason of St. Joseph Lodge No. 45 F&AM and Scottish Rite of South Bend and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mamie K. Bryarly Fowler, of Linton; daughters, Alice Lynn of Nashville, Tenn. and Karen Senner of South Bend; sons, Cecil W. Fowler Jr. of Canton, Mich. and Kevin R. Fowler of Big Rapids, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eddie Fowler and one brother, Kenneth Fowler.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at McClannahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee/Georgia Memorial Cemetery at Rossville, Ga.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
