Thomas "Tom" Wall, Jr., 82, of Linton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 8, 1924 in Linton to Thomas and Eunice (Alexander) Wall, Sr.
He married Doris I. Frederick on Oct. 18, 1946.
The current three-term Stockton Township Trustee, he was a decorated World War II veteran and was awarded five Bronze Stars.
He worked as a banker with the former Citizen National Bank for 37 years before retiring Dec. 30, 1983.
He was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church, graduated from Linton-Stockton High-School in 1942.
He was a 50 year member of Frank Courtney American Legion Post No. 22; 50 year member VFW Post No.7118 of Linton and a member BPO Elks No. 866 in Linton. He served on the Phil Harris Golf Course Committee for more than 20 years and was named the 2006 Phil Harris Golf Course Man of the Year.
He is survived by his wife, Doris I. (Frederick) Wall; daughter, Marsha Ann (Manuel) Barreiro, of Bloomington, two sons Jack R. (Marsha) Wall, of Linton and Kent F. "Opie" Wall, of Linton; sister, Harriett Ann Yung of Linton; five grandchildren; Tommy Wall, Rebecca Nagy, Levi Wall, Mary Masters, and Kaleb Wall; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughters Sarah Jane Wall and Jennifer Ann Barreiro and one great-granddaughter, Grace Ann Nagy.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Linton First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by Linton American Legion Post No. 22 to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
