Roni Sue King, 37, of Lyons, passed away Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born April 18, 1969, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Suellen K. (Spaulding) Wood, and Ronald L. Jones and stepmother Judy Jones.
She was formerly employed as an E-911 dispatcher for the Greene County Sheriff's Department and was currently contracted by Skytech to dispatch for NSWC Crane.
She was president of the Women's Auxiliary for the James Gastineau American Legion Post No. 479 in Lyons and was involved in numerous community and school functions.
Survivors include one daughter Danielle Renee Vaught of Lyons; her fiancée, Jeff Skomp, of Lyons; her mother Suellen K. Wood, of Sandborn; her father, Ronald L. Jones and stepmother Judy Jones, of Lyons; three sisters, Debbie J. Nichols, of Lyons, Roberta L. Pierce, of Lyons, and Christi L. Jones, of Kentucky; one brother, David E. Jones, of Lyons; five nieces, Summer Leer, Lisa Archer, Allison Jones, Haley Jones and Camryn Jones; five nephews, Wade Pierce, Blu Pierce, Bobby Pierce, Joshua Jones, and Brandon Cullison; two great nieces, Nicole Nash and Makayla Nash; and four great-nephews, Cameron Nash, Aiden Archer, Gavin Pierce and Ethan Pierce; two brother-in-laws, Terry D. Pierce and John Cullison; and one sister-n-law, Renee Jones.
She was prceeded in death by her sister, Lisa Jean (Nichols) Kline; a grandfather, Robert T. Spaulding; and stepfather, Joseph (Pops) Wood.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday at Lyons Community Building with David Jones officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in rural Lyons.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Lyons, and from 9 a.m. on Friday until the hour of service at the Lyons Community Building.
