Juanita M. "Sissy" Hayes, 83, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Nov. 10, 1922 in Greene County she was the daughter of Seymour and Norma (Lawrence) Townsend.
She was a dental assistant for Dr. Heidenreich in Bloomfield for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Bloomfield and the First Christian Church. She attended Mansions in Heaven Church in Bloomfield.
Survivors include two sons, Michael and his wife Peggy Hayes of Bloomfield, and Charles "Buddy" and Jackie Hayes of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Travis Hayes of Midland, Ashley Harris of North Carolina, Angie Frye of Bloomfield, Todd Humerickhouse of Bloomfield, Amie Allen of Vincennes and Abbie Humerickhouse of Bloomfield; five great-grandchildren Mikayla Crane, Tucker Hayes, Jaylee Kay Hayes, Josey Harris and Wyatt Frye; and one brother Charles Townsend of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Hayes, two brothers and one sister
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today (Monday) at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the hour of service today.
