Roger D. Davis, 55, of Bloomfield passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006 at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Born Nov. 7, 1950 at Freeman Greene County Hospital in Linton, he was the son of Edward B. and Vera Louis (Jones) Davis.
He was the CEO and General Manager of the Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC. He was a member of the Linton First Christian Church, Bloomfield Rotary, a Diamond Member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was the past president of the Greene County Economic Development Corporation board of directors.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include: his wife, Tami D. (VanDeventer) Davis of Bloomfield; five sons, Shaun Davis of Bloomington, John and wife Kim Davis; David Burkett, Matthew Burkett, Jonathan Burkett, all of Bloomfield; grandson, Trey Edward Davis, of Bloomfield; one sister, Debbie and husband Danny Martindale of Bloomfield; one brother Bryan and wife, Sue Davis, of Bloomfield; his parents, Edward B. and Vera Louis (Jones) Davis of Bloomfield; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Cincinnati Christian Church with the Rev. Glen Stidd, the Rev. Henry Mann Jr., and the Rev. Warren Shake officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday at Cincinnati Christian and from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service Thursday.
