Grover S. "Buster" Trusty, 89, of Linton, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Aug. 6, 1916 in Vicksburg, he was the son of Earl Trusty, Sr. and Ruth (Meredith) Trusty. He had been married to Esther (Hovey) Trusty who passed away May 9, 1991.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a farmer and worked as a coal miner for several years, retiring from Amax Coal Company. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Vicksburg, the Masonic Lodge 560 of Linton, the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, and the United Mine Workers of America.
Survivors include: a daughter Rhonda and her husband Eric May of Bloomington; a son Stanley Trusty and his wife Shirley of Mooresville; two brothers, Douglas Trusty of Vicksburg, and Clovis Trusty of Freemont, Ohio; a sister Becky McCarthy of Cleveland Ohio, three grandchildren, Jerry Trusty of Howell, Mich., Kenneth Trusty of Martinsville, and Erin Dickman of Manchester, Vt; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Mallory, Cassidy, Laura and Keith; and one great-great grandson Owen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther, three brothers, Myles, Leroy, and Earl "Junior" Trusty, and a sister Mary Ann Roudebush.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday with Glen Stidd officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday with Masonic Services given at 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
