James W. Dillingham, 75, of Farmersburg and formerly of Hymera, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006 at his residence.
Born July 18, 1931 in Hymera, he was the son of Carl and Thelma Bose Dillingham. He had been married to Norma Carrie Dillingham, who passed away in 1998.
He was a retired postmaster at Oaktown, a Navy veteran, and a member of American Legion Post 298. He was an avid bass fisherman and loved to study scripture.
Survivors include: a son Bill Hunley of Frankfort, Ill.; three daughters, Debra Burnham of Martinsville, Peggy Robinson of Wheatland, and Pam White of Birmingham, Ala.; a niece Mary Strange of Sullivan, a niece Candy Wright of Hymera; a nephew Robert Smith of Hymera; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Norma, and a sister Stella Smith.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Pastor Eric Lashbrook officiating. Burial will be at South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
Friends may call from noon until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
