Guy W. Crody, 77, of Linton, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006 at his home.
Born Oct. 8, 1928 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Truman and Bessie Crody. He had been married to Wilma Ruth Crody for 59 years before she passed away.
After serving his country honorably in the U.S. Army, he went to work at Union Carbide in Whiting and was later transferred to Union Carbide in Texas City, Texas, where he retired before moving back to Indiana.
Survivors include: his daughter Beverly O'Brien of Santa Fe, Texas; sons, David Crody of League City, Texas, and Kevin Crody of La Marque, Texas; grandchildren, Kenneth O'Brien, Jason O'Brien and Krista Crody, all of Texas; great-grandchildren, Jason O'Brien, Jr. and Kayley O'Brien, all of Texas; brothers, Tilman Crody of Jasonville and Robert Crody of Alaska; sister Connie Potter of Buffalo, Missouri; nephew Gary and Loretta Crody of Jasonville; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Ruth and son Kenneth Lloyd Crody, killed in Vietnam in 1972, his parents, brothers, Lloyd Crody, Ronnie Crody, Gene Crody, Doug Crody, Bill Crody, Clifford Crody, George Crody, and his sister Catherine MacIntosh.
Funeral service will be conducted graveside at 9 a.m. on Monday at the Walker Cemetery with Jerry Ross, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating.
Nathan Butler Funeral Home of Worthington is in charge of arrangements.
